Oh my! Are those grizzely bears Susan? For some reason, they don't look very friendly. Nice pic though!

Bears don't need passports to cross an unreal line drawn on a map. I have heard that the us goverment wants to require a passport to get into Canada. What does a passport cost these days, somewhere around one-hundred dollars? Restrict travel, etc.,etc.,etc. Even bears wakeup faster than the US public.

You are right. The US Govt does want to require passport to get get back in from Canada or for Canadians to go across, as far as that goes. Canada doesn't want it and thank goodness it's not into place yet.

I for one love to cross the border into the US to shop and unfortunately, aside from my Mom and siblings here, the rest of my family is in the US. I am American. If it goes through that a passport is required, the initial paperwork will cost me around $250.00 and something like $150.00 every four or five years. At this point, I couldn't afford it and my family would have to settle for not seeing me.

Coming back into the US from Canada, eating a hambuger from a carry-out.
The US border officer, "You'll have to finish that hamburger, or I can't let you through".
"Kiss my ass", said in a very low voice.

Actually, that's right Susan. You will be amazed at what they will take from you and throw into the garbage. We had some fruit for the kids to nibble on during our trip to Pa. The border guard saw it and took it. We watched as our money was thrown into the trash can. It's ridiculous really.

Hi Susan! Lovely bears, I have only had the pleasure of seeing one live bear last summer. He was only 2 feet away from me. I loved how his big foot paws made this swooshing sound on the ground as he walked. It sounded like he had slippers on...very cool.

Hey, I didn't know that stuff about the Us and Canada. I hope it don't pass. And Seren, I didn't know you were American? huh? ya learn something new everyday! Thanks guys Thats a shame they threw out the fruit and made ya gobble your burger. Stupid jerks
Mexican borders are real, real bad.

California use to be real strict about letting fruit and veggies come into the state. You had to stop at the stateline and they would ask what you had in the car, kinda like the US and Canadian border now. They were afraid of out of state bugs that could infest California crops.

South America, Central America, North America(Canada included:), we're all Americans.

Oh Pank, two feet!!!
Hon, bears are cute, they wave, put their paw over their nose and act shy...it's all an act. In reality they just want to get close enough to eat yo ass. Never, never trust a bear...their worse than people.

Susan LMAO! I should have explained. I was in an enclosed safe screened porch. We actually modified a big portion of the porch by making it, "bear proof" it is surrounded by heavy steel mesh only in a 10 foot section.

We did this so that our dogs can be safe at night from the wild life when they come to visit. LOL I would never say to a bear, "here kitty kitty"...lol I was peeing in my pants as it was just havin him outside from me, so close.

But he just trotted along, while I frantically whispered in my phone to my husband, "there is a BEAR outside"!!!
Thanks Susan for the warning though...my parents always remind me too because everyone knows I love nature and they think I will attempt to go close. But I'm not THAT trusting.

I do have to stop getting close to the deer though...or should I say, they have to stop surrounding me lol! I went through bushels of apples for them and now I worry when I am not there that they will starve...I am not going to feed them this summer because I think I may actually be hurting more than helping. ya know? sorry I rambled so much.
I didn't know that was the reason on the fruit at the border, guess they are not that jerky anymore...can't help but think anyone in a position of authority like that, (at the borders) gets there jollies sometimes, though in abusing there power!

Hope you are having a great day!
*big wave to Serenity too*

Hey Susan, If the bear comes back and acted agressive or I think if he even just looked at me I'd scurry inside where the walls are solid and it has a solid door. I would scram away quick. I have seen on tv how strong bears are. Thank you though, for caring and warning me. : )

Yea, the tiny summer place we have is in a pretty woodsey area, I love it though, it's quiet, peaceful. We have a red fox that lives nearby too and he is soo beautiful! Chipmunks run around everywhere. It's nice. It sounds like you are really settling in now. That's good Susan, It's hard to make such a big change.

Your place sounds peaceful and safe, I know how conforting that can be.
It's peaceful here where I live now, it's warm and clean(running water), and no bears or cougers to contend with:)
Of course peacefulness is an inside thing, and no matter where I go, that aspect of my character must be fed from union with Spirit.
A part of myself says, Is that all there is? The other part says, STFU and be grateful:)

Susan, you are human, we all think that at one time or another...and sometimes lots of times. The place I have is very peaceful and although I like to think I am pretty peaceful in spirit and overall I am...I still mantain to have bad days too and life's everyday distractions can't always easily be turned...so having a safe haven is nice. I'm so happy for you that you are in a better place. Where is Yvonne? She is due for a drive by!lol
I hope her son is doing better?
Peace always Susan : )
